Most of DFW is in an Enhanced Risk of Severe Storms Today

Most of DFW is under an Enhanced Risk (Mod-High Risk) of Severe Storms today.

Storms are expected to develop as early as 1PM in Central/Western Counties. I cannot rule out another line of storms late this evening, into the overnight hours.

The main severe threats will be large hail and a few tornadoes. Damaging wind gusts are possible out of these cells as well. The orange shaded area has the greatest risk of a few tornadoes and large hail. Make sure to take your safety precautions and put your car into your garage, and bring in loose lawn items just in case.

We will have a livestream once the severe weather gets going. There is no cap in place now, which very well could fuel some severe storms.
